This park is now my favorite place to go. You are out in the country, but minutes from the beach and more minutes to a large town with all the conveniences. Everything was clean--the staff was continuously paroling the property and picking things up or checking on things or removing trees, branches, etc. The tram available to go to the beach was an excellent touch, but I usually walked the 0.7 mile down there. The beach was clean and the water was the turquoise blue that I love about the area. The 5 mile nature trail was not very well marked after a certain point and I ended up going to the lake when I didn't want to, so it was a longer hike. We traded sites after one week so that we could have one with sun and the staff was accommodating, although we still had to contact Reserve America for our friend to extend his cabin stay a week--it could not be handled in the office. The volunteers we encountered were all friendly and the Saturday programs provided by knowledgeable staff were interesting. We were reprimanded for having a fire on the ground, but we learned a lesson and will buy a fire pit for the next time. I would definitely return to the area.

The park is small but the sites are big with concrete pads and huge trees for shade. It was located next to the Interstate which was convenient for traveling to the tourist areas nearby, but the highway noise was not obnoxious. There was no convenient place for walking and the laundry was a little hard to get to, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. They also provided tickets to attractions that were cheaper than purchasing them at the attraction. A nice clean, quiet and convenient park (so I guess that's why there is a higher price than one would expect with no amenities.)

This was a great park with walking trails and a dog park. The sites were large and private with lots of trees. We had poor drainage in the site we were in after it rained. We were trying to pull out and the entire back end was standing in 6 inches of water which made it difficult to unhook. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would like to go later in the year because volunteers were putting up Christmas lights throughout to turn it into a drive-through display, which will be beautiful. I would definitely return to this park.

The sites were too close together. We could hear our neighbors at their dinner table when we sat outside. The park was clean and the staff was friendly (they lent us a coax cable), but I guess mostly you are paying for the proximity to the beach which was not a very nice beach. It was clean, but not a "swimming" beach. The area is good for walking and/or riding bikes.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The view of the bay was excellent. We didn't participate in the activities but they had things going on frequently such as card games, potlucks and casino boat rides. The sites were a little close together but we enjoyed the visit.
